Last summer I enjoyed watching The Glee Project when I found it on Hulu. It was one of the first reality TV shows that really didn’t pit the contestants against one another and they formed a pretty tight bond, it was really refreshing! Also refreshing was their choreographer, Zach Woodlee. His happy hands made me smile and his attitude was so upbeat and supportive that he quickly became one of my favorite people on the show.
In a few of the episodes Zach sports a slouch knit hat with a spiral motif. I have no idea if it was manufactured or hand knit and never found a good close up of it anywhere to really dive into it’s construction. I had already been playing with a twisted slip stitch ribbing of my own design and it really fit the bill for my own version of Zach’s hat. I also knew I wanted a lined hat, super warm for the colder months, so it became a long tube cinched by a Scunci evolution brand pony tail holder I found at the drugstore. It’s a fairly easy knit, I added a few decreases but those can be left off all together. I hope you enjoy!

* The Scunci Evolution hair bands that I call for look like this and can often be found in drugstores. Other closures can certainly be used, but this one I feel does the job easiest.
